Leo Imam Soekarno, better known as Leo Kristi, is going to commemorate the 100 years of the National Awakening with his die-hard fans in a live performance at Teater Studio, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Cikini, Jakarta, on May 20 evening, starting at around 7.30 until 11 p.m. The concert is fully organized and sponsored by LKers Community and Leo Kristi's enthusiasts.
The legendary troubador artist, who will collaborate with LKers musicians, is scheduled to deliver more than 20 of his most popular songs, such as Salam dari Desa, Gulagalugu Suara Nelayan, Lenggang-lenggung, Nyanyian Malam, Nyanyian Musim, Nyanyian Tambur Jalanan, Nyanyian Fajar, Kereta Laju, SASL, Nyanyian Pantai, Serenada Pagi 1971, Siti Komariah, Surabaya Bernyanyi, and many more.
LKers is a group of people, connected loosely but intensely through LeoKristi@yahoogroups.com, who share a common interest, i.e. Leo Kristi's inspiring and monumental musical works. TIM performance will be the second collaboration between Leo Kristi and LKers Community after the concert at Wapres last February. Thanks to LKers core members who work very hard to make it happens.
Entrance is free, and everybody is invited, but don't expect to see a flawless performance as LKers musicians are all amateurs and the fact that Leo Kristi lives in Surabaya is also quite challenging for both parties. You may expect, however, a lively and full of spirit performance on stage, as well as off stage by LKer members.
The seats, however, will be prioritized for LKers and invitees who will bring the concert invitations with them. Anyway, you won't need a seat to see Leo Kristi on stage, as you are expected to sing along and trance with him.
So come early, maybe you still can get a seat, and get a chance to meet and shake hands with Leo Kristi and some of LKers Community members, and then listen to his inspiring music and lyrics, while contemplating the meaning of the National Awakening for you, 100 years after it was initiated .
