BP7 Building, Central Jakarta

BP7 Building is located at Jl. Pejambon No. 2, Sub-District and District of Senen, Central Jakarta, which is currently owned by the State Secretariat of RI. Architect of BP7 Building that was built in the 1830s is Ir. J. Tromp, with Amsterdam School style.

Originally the building was a Guard House that became part of the residence of the Indies Armed Forces Commander.

After 1918, the main building the Guard House and residence of Commander of the Armed Forces of the Indies were used as Volksraad (People's Council) building.

At the end of the Japanese Army occupation, the Dokuritsu Zyunbi Tyoosakai / Investigator Agency Preparation for Independence (BPUPKI) held a meeting in the building that took place in May-July 1945, to prepare for R.I Independence and the Constitution-making.

In this building, Mr. Moh Yamin and Ir. Soekarno formulated the opening sentences of UUD'45. In New Order era the building, located next to the Foreign Ministry building, is used as the Central Office of Pancasila Education Development Implementation Guidelines Agency(BP 7).
