The Aborted Farewell

It's been a while that I've been doing blogging. Looking back, it's still quite fresh in memory the moment when I started posting seriously in this blog. I was in a hospital accompanying my wife who was undergoing a surgery to remove funny little things in her ovarium, when I had a sense of determination to do and learn more seriously about blogging. That was the birth of my second posting The Bathroom Syndrome.

There were times when I enthusiastically posted comments in other blogs, left short messages at Shoutboxes to attract bloggers' attention and asked for link-exchange, and witnessed happily the progress of the visitor counter, Technorati ranks, PageRank and later Alexa rank. Google Adsense and TextLink Ads were once the other motivational factors for me to measure how good the blog could get revenue from.

Templates modifications and widget additions were definitely the two most interesting and challenging parts in my blogging adventure. Then there are bloggers, who bring with them the true colors of the blogging world; the virtual and real colors available or imaginable, from black to white, green to red, and pink to blue. It's going to be a history, or so was I thought when I decided to quit, closing down my blog, as I had other more important priority to attend to, and have limited time to do blog walking. In fact, I closed the blog down already, albeit only for one or two days.

One of the reasons why I re-opened TAP was that I didn’t want to kill one of my few simple dreams, to be a story teller. I like to read stories, especially those that are deep in meaning and inspiring. Whilst I will probably never be a good story teller, this blog gives me the space to be a little closer to the dream.

I have also a wish to travel around the archipelago, take photos of cultural events and beautiful places, and share them with others. TAP is currently the only medium that I have. I’m a believer that when people are encouraged and facilitated to go around the country, there’ll be a better distribution of wealth. Good Governors will put priority to attract visitors to the provinces by giving them a long lasting experience starting from the time they come until the moment they leave.

Hence, I will still be around for a little longer, until my contract with life expires, hopefully not too soon. For those who had a thought to quit blogging, you may want to give it a second thought. There's no such too late to re-start it again. Good luck.
